| nVidia driver saga conclusion: I had to replace Linux Mint with MX Linux. I couldn't get the 304.xx drivers installed with the official CLI installer as the installer fails right away at the build process. The driver, if installed from a PPA, would have removed a bunch of stuff from the system. The "cartridge tilt" graphical issue with Nouveau seems to affect only Ubuntu derivatives (and to a lesser extent, openSuse). I've had this problem on Ubuntu back in 2013 and possibly on Linux Mint back when I started using it in 2014. Possibly, because I used the 304.xx driver during most of the lifetime of my first LM instance. |
