@Carlos:Wait a second, you left AMD? As a customer or as an employee? No, of course not as an employee, but a customer. But only for the graphic cards, i still use AMD CPU-s.@Carlos:In the meantime, Navi10 is running:
https://twitter.com/octaforge/status/1203815179898834945?s=20 I see, but the Twitter post says, the patches were done by Raptor, not AMD.@Carlos:I found out Alex Deucher from GitLab is an AMD associate. Who is he?@Carlos:Yes, I asked her about the Debian debacle. Whether in theory a G4/G5 can also run in LE-mode, if the firmware fits. Well, let's see, what she'll answer.@Carlos:On which CPU Windows NT ran in LE-mode. I found this out myself: https://omgwtfbbq.ca/2018/07/installing-windows-nt-4-0-on-a-powerpc/
The URL is funny :-D I knew about NT running on PPC, but had no idea what kind of PPC it was, so thanks, now i know it was PReP.@Carlos:That she should do an blog post about the difference of BE/ LE from the developer's point of view and an article about whether there are differences between POWER and PowerPC. In my opinion there can be no difference. POWER is the architecture itself and PowerPC CPU-s were those specific POWER CPU-s which are manufactured by the Apple-IBM-Motorola alliance. Thanks, while i had BeOS 5.0.3, my list lacked an online download for it. Added. :) |
