Harmadszorra forgattam le a Linux kernelt, de valamiért a fejlécek nem telepítődnek a csomagolótérbe. Először bizonyos fájlok létrehozásánál az a hiba jön be, hogy nem lehet őket létrehozni, mert már van újabb változat belőlük, utána meg a make meg amiatt nyavalyog, hogy kupleráj van a forráskönyvtáramban. Csakhogy a make mrproper eltűntet egy csomó fontos dolgot, ezért még így sem tudok továbblépni a csomagoláshoz. Hogyan lehetne kinyiffantani a hibaüzeneteket, hogy végre csomagolhassam a kernelt?

Másold be kézzel a fejléceket a helyükre. A hibaüzeneteket hiába "nyiffantod ki", mert a hiba állítja meg a folyamatot, nem az üzenet, a hibát kell elhárítani. Becopyzod, hogy mik voltak a hibaüzenetek? Vagy ha túl sok, akkor logfile és upload pastebinre, vagy valahova.

Hello Carlos,

As always, your update is very appreciated, thank you. Sorry for processing it this slowly, but right now i'm struggling with the building of a MySQL query in a test task, to perhaps obtain a particular job. I processed the list up to T2 SDE and i've found that ttylinux actually had three kind of releases (16.1, 14.0 and 12.6) and 12.6 also has a downloadable image in the current website. Ataraxia does not have a PPC32 image because they had dropped the support for it, if you check the release notes at the TP2's entry, then it's in the announcement. It's really good to have a new T2 SDE release, especially because i've found, that they have also released 20.3 for Sparc64 too.

Tomorrow i'll proceed with the updating, just stay tuned. :)

Ugyan pontosan egy szállal feljebb már rég tisztázódott, hogy a fhuse által javasolt query azért nem megy nálam, mert 8-as MySQL kéne neki, nálam meg 5.5-ös - nek megfelelő MariaDB - van, de azért ő odavágja nekem a 8.0-ás MySQL idevágó manual page-ét, ld. még RTFM, holott itt pont nincs mit elolvasni, hiszen nem is mehet nálam.

De hiába erőlködik, nem fogok neki válaszolni.

Okay, got updated everything.

PowerEL is disappeared. The entire site. Weird.

Arch got PPC32 support, now that is some good news, although unusual, as bigendian support is rather fading out in the Linux realm.

Great finding on the Fedora Core images. (Unfortunately i did not find any new images for the newer Fedoras (7-30).)

So, POWER10 is 7nm too. As AMD Ryzen and the new lines of ARM. Only intel is still clowning around with 14 nm. Too bad, we won't any desktop machines built upon it soon... :(
Thanks for this presentation, i'll extract the images from the video some day soon.

Wow, there is an LFS variant which works on POWER and Sparc64? I've added the build instructions for it.

Well, i linked those instructions for Fienix 32, although some commenters were complaining about them not working. Also linked his "Remix" distros, Lubuntu and Macbuntu at Ubuntu 16.04 and 12.04.

Thanks again for these updates. It seems, that you have become the primary info source for this list. :)

BTW., it would be great to have some kind of server, where all of these images are saved together, to preserve them. I saved some of the most important ones to my computer, but that is only a shard of the whole.

POWER10 is a beast. IBM will probably introduce first computers at the end of 2021. If this will be a candidate for Raptor is in the stars. Because POWER10 will probably use some kind of binary blobs. On Github they have discovered some hints. But the last word has not been spoken yet and it still takes until 2022.

This can happen with the password. The good news is, you noticed it. Will they check your work and discuss it with you? If so, it might be a good idea to ask them if they have discovered the password. But the shot could backfire. Depends on the guys.

Neither Fedora 13. When they switched to systemd, they've skipped two releases with POWER archs. I don't know why though.

I think i still keep them for awhile, just to preserve the original paths in the URLs, because maybe we will find another mirror one day, if we look up those paths.

My younger brother asked exactly the same, and i answered him the same: since they have to set the password to make the stuff work with their own MySQL access, they have to notice it.

Thank you. Aside from this, i say it went fairly well. Though i had problems with optimizing the query what produces the main view, because due to the braindead structure, it was slow as hell. (A few million entries only and took up 3-5 secs to retrieve the data.) To say, the database they have given to me was badly constructed is mildly put. (It's some kind of test database from the MySQL team.) Erroneously crafted PRIMARY KEYs, missing indexes, duplicated entries which made denormalization a nightmare and i could go on. I've done the most of the project in less than two days, but spent four days with optimizing the main view's query. More experienced SQL guys had a hard time with it, when i asked for some help. But in the end, i've decided, that if i don't know if i am allowed to change the erroneous part of the DB or to denormalize it, then i will provide these two operations as optional. So, now it works without the correction and the denormalization with a fairly decent speed (except if you try to order the view either by the salary which has 3 million multiplexed records in a separate table, or by department which needs to JOIN the department table through the also multiplexed half million record long department number table), but there is the option to correct the indexes and denormalize the database which will yield an 5-50x speedup. (Roughly, depending on the queries.)

However, they might refuse it, because the instructions told me, that i have to display the view via the help of jQuery. Now, formally i complied, since i pull the data for the view from the server via jQuery's AJAX...but that is a meagre one line of jQuery code, the rest is done without any kind of stupid JS framework. :]
But seriously, i've done the whole thing in less than 7 kB (even if i do not use my own ~300 byte AJAX library instead of jQuery), with documentation and without minifying my source, while jQuery is roughly 90 kB without documentation and with minifying...and then i would need a table plugin too, which can weigh up to MEGABYTES of JS code and yet, they can filter by or sort for one column at a time, while my few kB large view can filter by or order for all columns, simultaneously and prioritizedly... Please do not misunderstand: i am not bragging, i am complaining. Any decent webdeveloper could do most of these stupid frameworks' "features" with a few short functions, yet we are using hundred kB large "librares" to do it. This is how the web2 bloatware works and spreads. And if you dare to object (pun intended), then you are a laggard heretic, who tries to hinder this - so called - "progress" and you should be burned at the stake which is elevated from printed FORTRAN codes. :P

Eh, sorry for the rant, but i am fed up with the ways software is developed nowdays...

I'm afraid, they're web2-believers. The instructions also told me to create a PHP class which implements the required stuff. Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against OOP, if it's done properly. If you have a base class with properties and functions which works with those properties and you extend this base class several ways and then you make multiple instances of your classes, then OOP was the right way to do it. (For example GUI programming.) But when you have some standalone functions and you only put all of this into a class to make one single instance, then it's OOP for the sake of OOP which is not just unnecessary, but also a wrong approach, with much unneeded overhead and obscurity. And web2 frameworks - especially on the backend - tends to do this.

But I am glad that you managed to do it anyway. I'm curious to see what you get out of it in the end.

Oh... So you've linked them, because the current links are dead! Sorry, did not noticed, i just checked them and saw that there are no new images which i can add to the list. This is one strong reason to collect all the PowerPC and Sparc64 install media to one place; but that would need lots of GB of space. That sounds bad. Why would IBM use binary blobs in additional chips, when they made the entire CPU architecture open? Or will be the source for that blob available? While i've never heard of IBM involved in privacy or surveillance scandals, i don't like the sound of this. Maybe i am paranoid.

Okay, replaced the Fedora links, they were really dead, with the exception of Fedora 31 and 32, those are still alive. (Which means, Fedora 29 and 30 are no longer supported, i've changed their support status to unsupported.) However, i've checked RHEL 3 and 4 and those entries' links were already the same you suggested. CentOS were okay too.

Now it makes more sense; the memory controller is so sophisticated, that it needs it's own software. Okay. I guess, until there is no direct bypass to the ethernet from there, it would be pointless to put anything malicious into it.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion, i've found BeOS 3 and 4 links which were missing from the list and the BeOS 5 Personal Edition! And also a more proper OS/2 3.0 package. BTW, the list is now over 300 entry long. And only 59.935% is Linux, so nobody can accuse us of this being a Linux list. :P (I've actually read some opinions like that. On the other hand an OpenBSD user told me, that it is full of shit and by shit he meant not BSD or Linux...okay. :/ )

Thanks. No, this is 32-bit only too, but most Linux is, so i've added it. Actually there are no "normal" Sparc64 Linux which you can install on "everyday" desktop Sparc64 machines, with the sole exception of GNU Step. (Tested on Sun Blade 100, works.) And the Debian 9 and 10 betas with Tier-2 support only. There are a couple other entries with theoretical Sparc64 desktop support, like Fedora 12 or PLD Linux 2.0, but no images available...(and these are even more older than the now decade old GNU Step 2.0.) If you want a recent desktop Linux for Sparc64 then you have to build it for yourself with CLFS or T2 SDE. And support is nonexistent, the old ones are no longer supported, Debians are Tier-2 on Sparc64 and the builder distros always means you are on your own.

Sparc64 is definetely System V and BSD territory.
