Ja. Az MD5 igazából nem is titkosításra való, hanem ha letöltesz egy nagy fájlt, akkor ellenőrizhesd hogy hibátlanul jött-e le. (Legenerálod belőle a hasht, és ha egyezik a honlapon találttal akkor hibátlan.)
